Consciously Cool Toys at Lou and Belle

Consciously Cool Toy brands at Lou & Belle

At Lou and Belle I am passionate about finding innovative, conscious brands that make first class children’s products. We try and source gifts that have been made with the environment in mind as well as the little one who receives it. From using eco-friendly materials to creating fairly paid jobs in poorer communities, we have a range of kids toy brands that we are really proud to stock.

Here is a run down of my favourites:

Tikiri Toys

Handcrafted from eco-friendly and sustainable materials-such as natural rubber, and are certified plastic free, BPA Free, phthalate free and PVC free. These are a great sustainable toy which are biodegradable as they are made from rubber.

This is a unique collection of toys that combine texture, touch, and personality to help introduce toddlers to the wonders of the world around them. Tikiri is dedicated to making only top-quality handcrafted toys that promote a child’s physical and emotional development.

We love Tikiri as they offer parents natural, handmade alternatives to mass produced plastic toys.

World Wildlife Fund Sustainable Plush Toys

I love discovering the cutest toys that give back, when I came across the range from the World Wildlife Fund, I knew these would be a great addition for Lou and Belle. These toys are made from the worlds most sustainable Plush material as they are produced under strict environmental and social criteria. For every WWF plush toy sold, a donation is made to the WWF to help with their conservation efforts.

Tenderleaf Toys

Toys made from wood last and it's the key reason why it's an ideal alternative to plastic. We love wooden toys for babies and kids because they don't break, plus they look great. For babies, a traditional wooden toy is a perfect gift. There are lots of wooden toys brands available but at Lou & Belle, we love that Tender Leaf only work with reclaimed rubberwood, a by-product of the latex industry. In addition, for every reclaimed tree it uses, they plant a new one, driving ahead the cycle of regeneration. Tender Leaf have been awarded the ICTI Ethical Toy Program seal of approval for our ethical and sustainable supply chain. Each piece is coloured with a soft non-toxic waterstain.

Not only do they have great sustainability credentials, the quality of this range is beautiful and guaranteed to bring a smile to any little one.

Nana Huchy

The Nana Huchy brand curates classic toys made from beautifully soft materials & produced with superior quality – a nod to Nana & the things she used to craft. Made with love, the goal is always to encourage imagination & of course, to make memories for a long time to come.

Even as grown-ups, we never forget our most treasured toys. The ones threadbare from love & brandishing stains due to never leaving our side. At Lou & Belle, we love Nana Huchy as each of these lovely dolls are a great alternative to plastic, they can be loved by your little one and then passed on.
